1937 BMW 327 Coupe PICTURES
The BMW 327 was introduced by the German manufacturer in 1937, shortly after 326's official launch in 1936. Based on the 326 chassis, the new 327 model was initially available with a 2-door convertible body style. Later on, in 1938, a coupe version of this model was available to the large public, featuring a shorter wheelbase but a much-alike exterior design (same grille and aerodynamic shape). Everything from engine configuration and transmission to brakes and suspension was shared with the 326 saloon, except for powerplant's output ratings and car's on-road performances. This model was one of BMW most successful vehicles in the inter-war period, as it was sold in no less than 1,400 units between 1837 and 1941. Soon after WWII, BMW launched a second generation model based on the 1937 327 touring coupe.
